No major security incidents were recorded across the Negros Island Region during the five-day observance of Undas from Oct. 29 to Nov. 2, the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) reported.
In a press release, PRO-NIR said a total of 377,587 people visited cemeteries, memorial parks, and columbaria across the region during the period.
The highest turnout was recorded on Nov. 2, with 182,592 visitors, police monitoring data shows.
A total of 3,119 personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP), partner agencies, and force multipliers were deployed to cemeteries, transportation hubs, major roads, and other public areas to maintain security and assist visitors.
PRO-NIR Regional Director Brig. Gen. Rudecindo Reales also conducted inspections of police deployments and security arrangements at various cemeteries.
Police personnel carried out readiness assessments to identify potential security gaps and address operational concerns during the observance.
Reales attributed the peaceful observance to advance planning, operational readiness, and coordination among police units, local governments, and partner agencies.
“The orderly and peaceful observance of Undas 2026 was the result of careful planning, preparedness, and effective coordination among our police personnel, partner agencies, force multipliers, and local governments,” Reales said.
He also commended the deployed personnel for their efforts in maintaining public safety throughout the five-day period.
PRO-NIR said the absence of major incidents reflected the effectiveness of security measures and sustained police visibility across the region.*
