New APDEC officers sworn in, to lead sustainable planning  for Negros

The newly elected officers of the Association of Planning and Development Coordinators – Negros Occidental (APDEC) were inducted into office at the Victorias Aquatic Center, Pavilion II, on Friday, February 7.

The organization’s officers underscored their commitment to advancing strategic planning and sustainable governance in Negros Occidental during the event, a press release from Victorias City said on Wednesday, Feb. 12.

The ceremony was attended by the City/ Municipal Planning and Development Coordinators (CPDCs) in Negros Occidental.

Victorias City Mayor and Negros Association of Chief Executives (Negros ACE) president, Javier Miguel Benitez, administered the oath of office via Zoom.

Dr. Evangeline Alo of Victorias City was inducted as the 8th APDEC president, with Jose Ainar Apdol of La Carlota City as vice president.

The other officers are Her She Pausa -Jamili (Pontevedra) – secretary, Leovilyn Acepcion (Don Salvador Benedicto) – treasurer, and Ma. Fe Blando Tico (La Castellana) – auditor.

The members of the Board of Directors are Gilbert Alparito (Cadiz City) and Susana Casalem (Kabankalan).

Benitez, in his message, highlighted the vital role of planning in governance.

“Planning is the key to creating a vision where we can have a brighter future. To our newly inducted officers, I challenge you to lead with a bigger purpose in mind,” he said.

He encouraged the officers to embrace innovation, forge partnerships, and advocate for economic growth that uplifts local communities.

Former Governor of Negros Occidental and Provincial Consultant on Energy and the Environment, Rafael Coscolluela, urged the APDEC officers to work collectively in mapping out a comprehensive development program for the province.

He underscored the significance of utilizing the province’s development fund for strategic planning and sustainable initiatives.

“If we all work together, we can chart a clear path towards progress,” he stated.*
