The Negros Power and Electric Corp. cleared power lines of tree branches and other vegetation in Talisay and Silay cities and Murcia town in Negros Occidental during the weekend to prevent power outages.
Negros Power removed tree branches leaning on power lines and urged the public to report similar situations so they can be acted on, an advisory from the firm said Sunday, August 4.

Negros Power also responded to a reported power outage at Hacienda San Isidro, Brgy. Concepcion, Talisay, after the boom truck of a streetlight contractor hit a post of a primary and secondary line causing it to fall on Sunday.
The wires were transferred to another line and new pin insulators were installed that led to the restoration of power, Negros Power said.
