As Central Negros Electric Cooperative began the transition of management to the Negros Electric and Power Corporation, it advised its consumers that NEPC employees will now carry out some of its services starting August 1.

In an advisory, CENECO said that NEPC-hired meter readers, disconnectors, and linemen will be deployed to carry out meter readings, billing services, disconnection, and troubleshooting activities.

CENECO said the transition is part of their ongoing commitment to ensure uninterrupted and efficient service.

“As we move from CENECO to NEPC, we ask for your cooperation in allowing NEPC’s dedicated team to conduct necessary activities in your premises”, the advisory said.

NEPC spokesperson Jonathan Cabrera also said that the new utility provider will use their temporary office to facilitate consumer transactions at Robinsons East, Burgos Street in Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod City.

The NEPC’s office offers a fully air-conditioned Customer Care Center equipped with a digital queuing system, complimentary coffee, and bread, he said.

Consumers visiting the CENECO office on Mabini Street will be provided with a complimentary shuttle service to the Negros Power office which operates from Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. without a noon break.

Among the services that Negros Power will be offering in their office are payment of current billings, applications for new connections, follow-up on pending applications, bill deposit payments, customer-related requests and concerns, and requests for reconnections.

Meanwhile, with CENECO transitioning to Negros Power, Power Watch Secretary-General Wennie Sancho lauded the new power franchisee as it is a result of the peoples’ struggle to have adequate access to affordable and reliable power supply.

“NEPC President Mr. Roel Castro was able to steer the course of Negros Power in the right direction, because of his willingness and ability to deal with tough issues in the energy sector”, Sancho said in a statement.*
