NegOr 3rd District to install over 100 CCTV cameras

Rep. Janice Degamo (Neg. Or., 3rd District) on Sunday, May 10, announced the rollout of a district-wide CCTV monitoring program aimed at improving public safety, disaster response, and crime prevention across the district.

Degamo said more than 100 CCTV cameras will be installed in key areas in the 3rd District of Negros Oriental through funding support from the Governor Roel Ragay Degamo Foundation.

Degamo said the project was finalized during a meeting with the Philippine National Police, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, and the Department of Public Works and Highways.

She said the initiative seeks to strengthen emergency response operations, reduce criminal activities, prevent road accidents, and improve monitoring during typhoons, flooding, and other emergencies.

Degamo added that the CCTV system would help authorities respond faster and improve coordination during incidents and disasters.

The lawmaker also thanked the PNP, DPWH, Provincial Government of Negros Oriental, and partner agencies for supporting the initiative.

She described the project as part of a long-term effort to build a “smarter, safer, and more secure future” for communities in the district.*
