Negros Occidental voters deleted by the Commission on Elections from its list increased to 113,776, Provincial Election Supervisor Ian Lee Ananoria said on Wednesday Jan. 28.
The number increased after the 20,495 deleted Bacolod City voters were added to the list, he said.
Negros Occidental now has 1,961,404 voters with new registrants also having been added to the list, Ananoria said.
The number of voters in the province could increase to 2 million with the registration of voters ongoing until May 18, he said.
Negros Occidental has 1,009,139 female voters and 931, 275 male voters.
The majority of voters purged from the list as of January 19 were those who failed to vote in two consecutive elections totaling 109, 864.
Ananoria said also removed from the list were 31 voters on orders of the court, 3,239 by reason of death, 639 who transferred their registration to another area and three for double registration, he added.
He reiterated that those who have been deactivated can still reactivate their voting status during the ongoing registration of voters for the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections.*
