Mayor Ella Celestina Garcia-Yulo led the groundbreaking ceremony for the new housing project in Barangay Quintin Remo, Moises Padilla in Negros Occidental on Wednesday, April 22.

The project is intended for families who lost their homes due to the destruction caused by Typhoon Tino on Nov. 4, 2025.

A total of 50 families are set to benefit from the housing project, with 43 beneficiaries coming from Barangay Quintin Remo and seven from Barangay Inolingan, a press release from Moises Padilla said.

Garcia-Yulo thanked Quidan Kaisahan and AmCham Philippines for their significant support in the municipality’s rehabilitation efforts.

She said the housing project is a major relief for affected residents and will help restore their dignity by providing them with safe and secure homes.

The mayor also announced that the local government unit will construct a communal comfort room at the housing site to ensure cleanliness and proper sanitation for the beneficiary families.

The mayor was joined by members of the Sangguniang Bayan led by Vice Mayor Felix Mathias Segundo “Pimpoy” Yulo III at the groundbreaking.

Also present during the ceremony were barangay officials led by Punong Barangay Felisa Villaflor, Municipal Engineer Agnes Glia Mabag, Quidan Kaisahan Project Manager Benjie Largo, and AmCham Philippines project lead Jeño Perio.*
