Motorcyclist killed in truck collision

A 19-year-old motorcyclist died after his vehicle collided with a trailer truck loaded with sugarcane at an intersection along the Bacolod–Negros Occidental Economic Highway in Barangay Felisa, Bacolod City, 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11.

The police identified the victim as Justine Tesoro, 19, a resident of Totong 4, Brgy. Felisa, who was driving a red Rusi TC Macho 125 motorcycle without a plate number and without a driver’s license.

Initial police investigation showed that the trailer truck, driven by Manie Sepida, 41, of Sagay City, was traversing the access road of the economic highway from west to east, while the motorcycle was traveling from the Brgy. Felisa main road from south to north when the two vehicles collided.

Authorities said the motorcycle driver sustained severe head injuries that resulted in his instantaneous death.

Police said a passing nurse identified as Irish Nasataya performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the victim, but he was later declared dead by responding rescuers.

The truck driver voluntarily surrendered to Police Station 10 and is currently under police custody while investigation is ongoing.*
