The Municipal Development Council (MDC) and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) of Moises Padilla have approved a ₱30 million allocation dedicated to disaster recovery and various development programs.

The approval was finalized during a joint meeting held on Thursday, January 22, at the Mayor’s Office, presided over by Mayor Ella Celestina Garcia-Yulo, a press release from the town said.

A significant portion of the package consists of ₱20 million from the Office of the President, intended as financial assistance for residents whose homes were damaged by Typhoon Tino.

Of this total, ₱10 million was coursed through the Provincial Government, while the remaining ₱10 million was released directly to the local government unit.

The councils also greenlighted several other priority projects to aid displaced families and bolster local livelihoods.

This includes ₱400,000 donated by Kabankalan City for the development of a relocation site for typhoon victims.

Additionally, ₱9.6 million from local funds was allocated for agricultural support, specifically for swine upgrading programs and a new irrigation project in Barangay Montilla.

Garcia-Yulo, together with Vice Mayor Felix Mathias Segundo “Pimpoy” Yulo III, reiterated the LGU’s commitment to the efficient delivery of provincial and national assistance.

They emphasized that these programs are vital to supporting immediate recovery efforts while promoting sustainable development within the municipality.*
