Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez has ordered the full closure of the Circumferential Road between St. Francis Avenue and the Upper East Avenue (Megaworld) from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m on Friday and Sunday, October 18 and 20.
Live concerts that are part of the MassKara Festival are scheduled to take place on those dates at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC) grounds that are expected to draw large crowds.
The Sari-Sari Store MassKaravan and Concert 2024 sponsored by Puregold is set at the BCGC, Friday evening, Oct.18, featuring rap artists FlowG, Skusta Clee and SB19.
Piolo Pascual, Moira Dela Torre, KZ Tandingan, TJ Monterde and Franco band will highlight the BingoPlus Day Music Fest at the BCGC on Sunday evening, Oct. 20.
In light of the anticipated large crowds and the importance of ensuring the safety and security of event-goers during live concerts there is a need to implement a re-routing schedule, Benitez said.
All trucks that intend to pass through the Circumferential Road shall be diverted to the Bacolod Negros Occidental Economic Highway (BANOCEH) from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. on those dates.
The Bacolod Traffic and Transport Management Department (BTTMD) will put up holding areas for trucks that opt to wait it out until the events set on those dates are finished.
The BTTMD is directed to provide clear and accessible alternate route to the riding public, the mayor said.*
