Marcos expected to arrive Jan. 25 for housing turnover

President Ferdinand Macos Jr. is tentatively set to arrive on January 25 for the turnover of 296 condominium units at the Asenso Village in Barangay Vista Alegre, Bacolod City, Regional Director Eva Marfil of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development said on Monday, January 15.

The construction of the first two condominium buildings is almost finished and a third one is also rising at the Asenso Village, she said.

The developer is set to construct 25 buildings at the Asenso Village, she said.

She said a license to sell 296 housing units in four building has already been approved.

Under the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino the national government through the DHSUD will be providing a 5 percent interest subsidy to all those who avail of the housing units, she said.

Those who avail of the condominium units must be members of the Pag-IBIG that will be providing the housing loan.

Each unit will be payable over 30 years at about P2,300 to P2,500 a month, Rodel Parcon, executive assistant for housing concerns, said.

Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino housing programs are also set in Silay, Bago, Himamaylan and Victorias cities, Marfil said.*
