A 40-year-old man died after being shot in the chest by a friend in Brgy. Matab-ang, Talisay City in Negros Occidental, Wednesday night, July 16.
Beboy Batman was pronounced dead at the Talisay City Health Office at around 8 p.m., P/Major Rhazl Jim Jocson, Talisay deputy police chief, said.
Witnesses reported that Barman and the suspect, identified as Beboy, were talking when the latter suddenly pulled out a firearm and shot him.
Police believe a personal grudge was the motive behind the shooting.
The incident shocked residents of the area, who knew both individuals as friends with the same first names.
A police pursuit operation for the suspect, who fled on a motorcycle, is ongoing.*
