Man found dead at BREDCO Port seawall

An unidentified man was found dead by the seawall of the BREDCO Port in Brgy. 2, Bacolod City, early Monday morning, November 17.

Police Station 2 received a call at around 6:30 a.m. from personnel of the Lampirong Border Control reporting a body floating near the area behind Moreta Cargo.

Responding officers proceeded to the site and found the lifeless male victim in the water.

Members of the Philippine Coast Guard, headed by PO2 Ariel Matuog, retrieved the body.

Roger Navarro Jr., 29, a worker at BREDCO Port and a resident of Barangay Tanawan in Kabankalan City, told police he discovered the body at around 6 a.m. and immediately informed authorities.

The Bacolod City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office arrived at around 7:30 a.m. and confirmed that the victim had no signs of life.

Responders also noted that the man sustained a head injury.

Police have yet to establish the victim’s identity and the cause of the head injury as the investigation continues.

The body was brought to ABE Funeral Homes in Barangay 2.*
