A 49-year-old driver died after he was run over by a truck inside the parking lot of the Binalbagan Isabela Sugar Company in Brgy. Progreso, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental, early Sunday morning, March 1.
Police identified the victim as Jielyn Macairan, a resident of Sitio Bermeo, Brgy. Camalobalo, Hinigaran, while the truck driver was Remy Tresfuentes, 51.
Binalbagan police investigation showed that the truck was maneuvering to unload sugarcane when the driver allegedly failed to notice the victim.
Authorities said the victim’s head was run over, resulting in his death.
The truck driver is currently under police custody for proper disposition and investigation.
The police said they are also waiting for the decision of the victim’s family regarding the filing of charges.*
