LTO-NIR orders correction of driver’s license record

The Land Transportation Office-Negros Island Region ordered the correction of a driver’s license record after a complaint involving the alleged misrepresentation of nationality.

Investigation and Intelligence Unit served a resolution on May 25 at the LTO-NIR Regional Office in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City,  a  LTO-NIR press release said on Wednesday, May  27.

The complaint involved the alleged misrepresentation of nationality in the procurement of a driver’s license.

After evaluation, authorities found no sufficient basis to impose penalties for fraudulent misrepresentation due to lack of substantial evidence.

However, the respondent’s driver’s license was confiscated to facilitate the correction of the nationality reflected in the official records.

LTO-NIR OIC Regional Director Jeck Conlu said they  remain committed to ensuring accurate licensing records and observing due process in all proceedings.*
