The Negros Occidental provincial government is increasing the bonuses of its 2,905 employees from P40,000 to P50,000 each, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said Sunday, December 18.
That is because Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson is asking the Sangguniang Palalawigan to approve an increase in the Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) of the Capitol employees from P 10,000 to P20,000 at its regular session on Tuesday, he said.
The governor is granting the increase pursuant to an order issued by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Diaz said.
The President’s order authorizes the grant of a one-time SRI at a uniform rate not exceeding P20,000.
Employees in local government units, including those in the barangays, may also receive the incentive depending on the LGU’s financial capability, the president said.
The Negros Occidental provincial government has enough personnel services savings to cover the P58.1 million for the SRI, Diaz said.
Diaz said they are preparing the papers for SP approval and aim to release the SRI by next week.
The other bonuses of the provincial government employees this Christmas are the Collective Negotiation Incentive – P25,000, and Productivity Enhancement Incentive – P5,000.*
