Kabankalan City Hall to resume operating at 100 percent capacity

Mayor Pedro Zayco said today, December 8, that the Kabankalan City Hall will operate at 100 percent capacity starting tomorrow, December 9, after only five new employees at the facility tested positive for COVID-19 and have been placed in healing facilities.

“I cancelled the 50 percent workforce policy since out of 398 employees at the city hall only five tested positive, which is very minimal,” he said, adding that they are all asymptomatic.

The Kabankalan City Hall employees had been divided into two teams and worked in shifts to ensure that all of them were tested for COVID-19, Zayco said.

The testing of all of the city hall employees has been completed, with two from the first team and three from the second team having tested positive for COVID-19, he said.

Of the three employees who tested positive from the last batch, two were from the Mayor’s Office and one from General Services Office, Zayco said.

The two employees who tested positive from the first team were from the City Accounting Office and GSO, he added.

They had not been reporting to the City Hall because they were scheduled for swabbing so the three offices are safe, he said.

The five brought to 35 the number of Kabankalan City government employees who tested positive for COVID-19, one of whom died, he added.

HEALING CENTERS

Zayco said a new healing facility in Barangay Linao, Kabankalan City, with a capacity of 30 patients, will be blessed on Thursday, December 10.

Kabankalan also has a healing facility at its city hospital in Barangay Tabugon with a capacity for 14 patients.

Hopefully, another healing facility with a capacity for 16 patients provided by the national government through the Department of Public Works and Highways will be completed at the compound of the city hospital by January, Zayco added.

ACTIVE CASES DROP

Kabankalan City only has 38 remaining COVID -19 active cases today, he said.

There have been 496 persons hit by COVID-19 in Kabankalan City, seven deaths, and 451 recoveries, Zayco added.*
