Rep. Javier Miguel Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3rd District) led the inauguration of nine infrastructure projects in Victorias and Talisay cities on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 14 and 15.
Six completed infrastructure projects in Victorias City were inaugurated on Tuesday.
A two-story multi-purpose building in Barangay XIV serves as a dedicated evacuation center with a healthcare clinic and Sangguniang Kabataan Hall.
Replacing a previously unsafe crossing, the Nasipunan–Gloria Bridge in Barangay XII features a 29-meter reinforced concrete structure designed to ensure uninterrupted mobility.
In Barangay XX, the Santa Cruz Bridge underwent rehabilitation, covering an 8.2-meter-long, two-lane structure with a width of 6.1 meters.
Covered courts were also rehabilitated and upgraded in Barangay VI-A, Barangay III, and Barangay V, to create more functional and sustainable community space.
TALISAY CITY
Three infrastructure projects to strengthen public service delivery and disaster preparedness were also inaugurated in Talisay City on Wednesday.
In Barangay Concepcion, a 20-meter by 7-meter multi-purpose building was constructed with complete concrete structural works, electrical and plumbing systems, and interior finishing.
Barangay E. Lizares opened a completed two-story multi-purpose building that expands the capacity of the barangay hall.
In Barangay Zone 12-A, a new two-story Multi-Purpose Building was constructed while the original one-story structure was upgraded through roofing, ceiling, tile, plumbing, and electrical works, and was turned into a VAWC Center.
Benitez said the projects are designed to ensure that infrastructure directly responds to community needs, particularly in delivering services and improving emergency readiness.
The completed facilities enhance access to safe, functional public spaces while reinforcing the capacity of barangays to host civic activities, deliver essential services, and respond effectively during disasters, the press release said.*
