Isabela National High School secures back-to-back win in Southern District Robotics Competition

Isabela National High School dominated the Southern District Robotics Competition, clinching the championship titles in the Project Innovative Ideas and Mission Challenge categories in Sipalay City on Friday, Sept. 12.

Gil Montilla National High School–Cabadiangan Extension secured victory in the Sumobot category, while Cabacungan National High School emerged as the champion in the Line Tracing category.

At the elementary level, Barangay V Elementary School claimed the championship in both the Mission Challenge and Line Tracing categories, while Binulig Elementary School captured the championship in the Sumobot competition.

The districtwide event was spearheaded by the Office of Governor Eugenio “Bong” Lacson through the Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center (NOLITC) and Pinoy Robot Games, in partnership with the Office of Sipalay City Mayor Maria Gina Lizares and Department of Education Sipalay Division.

The top five winners will advance to the 5th Battle of Bots Provincial Level Competition, scheduled for September 30 to October 2, 2025. The district event marked the opening leg of the competition, which will continue with the second leg in Silay City on September 17–20 and the third leg in Cadiz City on September 22–25. Each winner received medals, cash prizes, and certificates in recognition of their achievements.

The robotics hackathon and competition is a pioneering program of NOLITC since 2019. NOLITC organizers emphasized that the competition not only focuses in honing the talents of young innovators but also strengthens the provincial government’s commitment to advancing science, technology, and robotics education for the next generation.

This successful event was made possible through the collaboration of NOLITC with Pinoy Robot Games led by Mr. Melvin Matulac, Local Government of Sipalay City Mayor’s Office – Executive Program & Local Youth Development Office led by Ms. Katherine Maguad-Jocame and DepEd Sipalay Division under SDS Dr. Benjie Libo-on.*
