Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said a house-to-house COVID-19 vaccination drive will have to be conducted following the low turnout during the 4th National Vaccination Days.

He said there was a low turnout of persons who went to the vaccination centers, which is a predicament that was also faced in other parts of the country.

They cannot continue to wait for people to go to vaccination centers, a house-to- house campaign is needed, Lacson said.

Negros Occidental remains under Alert Level 2 and Bacolod City under Alert Level 1.

Their COVID-19 risk classification is minimal, the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Monday.

Negros Occidental has vaccinated 58.59 percent of its target population and 55.28 percent of its A2 or senior citizen target population, the DOH added.

There was also a low turnout during the Bacolod NVD, which could have been caused by bad weather during the weekend, Dr. Edwin Miraflor, Bacolod City Health Officer, said.

However, Bacolod has already vaccinated 127.53 percent of its target population and 146.40 percent of its senior citizens, he added.*
