Himamaylan City in Negros Occidental tested Starlink’s high-speed satellite internet service during a Digital Career Expo held Thursday, March 2.

More than 300 participants of the ICT expo were able to connect and experience the high-speed internet, provided by Data Lake, an authorized Starlink reseller and integrator for enterprise customers in the Philippines.

The Starlink satellite dish was installed and activated just outside the Brgy. 3 covered court in Himamaylan City to provide participants with uninterrupted internet connectivity using their smartphones and laptops.

Starlink was able to provide a download speed of up to 128Mbps throughout the day, showcasing its ability to provide reliable and fast internet connectivity.

Rep. Emilio Yulo III (Neg. Occ, 5th District), co-organizer of the event, said that the provision of satellite connectivity is just a glimpse of the promised speed from tech genius, Elon Musk.

Yulo, together with the Department of Information and Communication Technology, organized the Digital Career Expo as part of his campaign program for the 5th District of Negros Occidental to go for Digital Innovation towards New Oppotunities (DINO).
