A high-value drug target was arrested in San Jose, Negros Oriental, after authorities confiscated over one kilo of suspected shabu worth ₱6.9 million in a buy-bust operation on Saturday, Dec. 6.

Police identified the suspect as Jazem Arnaiz Al-Huqail, alias “Basim,” 33, a resident of Brgy. Sta. Agueda, Pamplona, and listed as a High-Value Individual on the regional drug watchlist.

The operation was conducted at Purok 5, Brgy. Police also seized a .357 caliber revolver with three live rounds, one Honda Click motorcycle, a cellphone, cash, a belt bag, a wallet, and the buy-bust money composed of one genuine P1,000 bill and 49 boodle notes.

The seized drugs were contained in one medium sachet, 24 medium sachets, and three large sachets reportedly prepared for distribution.

Authorities said the buy-bust was launched after confirming Basim’s alleged involvement in large-scale trafficking within southern Negros Oriental.
