The Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan election period prohibitions imposed by the Commission on Elections ended Wednesday, Nov. 29.
Wednesday was also the last day for the BSKE candidates to file their Statements of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE), Provincial Election Supervisor Ian Lee Ananoria said.
Those who failed to file their SOCEs will be fined, while third time offenders will face administrative cases and disqualification from running for public office, he said.
There is no extension for the filing of SOCEs.
Among the Comelec prohibitions lifted with the end of the election period are the gun ban, raising of funds through dances, lotteries, cockfights, the transfer or detail of officers and employees in the civil service, including public school teachers, organization or maintenance of reaction forces, strike forces or similar forces, and suspension of local elective officials.
Ananoria said with the BSKE over they are now preparing for the 2025 midterm elections and registration of voters is expected to resume soon.*
