Four bids for Bacolod hospital to undergo evaluation: DPWH

The bids streamed on the DPWH 6 Facebook page.*

The Department of Public Works and Highways in Region 6 opened the bids for the construction of the P193 million Bacolod City General Hospital multi-purpose building in Barangay Vista Alegre, Bacolod City, on Monday, May 23.

Four of the six bidders found compliant will undergo bid evaluation and post qualification, it was announced during the opening of the bids that was streamed live on the DPWH 6 Facebook page.

A.M. Oreta-IBC submitted the lowest bid at P190,600,000 followed by F. Gurrea Construction Inc. at P191,033,722.80, A.G. Araja Construction – P192,256,250.34, and M. G. Salazar Construction Corp. – P192,898,681.82.

The winning bidder will be the firm with the lowest responsive calculated bid, the DPWH said.

The DPWH declared the bids of Precious Construction and A.C. Rivero Development Corp. non-compliant.

Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya authored House Bill 6731 and Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri authored the counterpart measure in the Senate.

President Rodrigo Duterte signed their bills into law on June 2021, known as Republic Act 11564 establishing the Bacolod City General Hospital and allocating P600 million for the purpose.

Zubiri committed P200 million more for the hospital.*
