Former GSO head arrested

Lucille Chavez Pines is now under the custody of the Talisay City Police Station*

The former head of the Negros Occidental provincial government General Services Office was again arrested for alleged violation of the Securities Regulation Code and estafa in Brgy. Zone 15, Talisay City, on Friday, Dec. 1.

Police records showed that Lucille Chavez Pines, 63, a resident of Brgy. Zone 15, was arrested by the police by virtue of two warrants of arrest.

She was arrested by virtue of an arrest warrant for alleged violation of Republic Act 8799 or the Securities Regulation Code, issued by the presiding judge of Branch 54 of the Bacolod City Regional Trial Court on Nov. 20 with bail fixed at P126,000.

Another warrant of arrest against Pines for three counts of alleged swindling or estafa, issued by the judge of Branch 4 of the Bacolod City Municipal Trial Court on Nov. 17, was also served.

Bail fixed for each count of estafa was P18,000, the police said.

On April 20, the National Bureau of Investigation also arrested Pines for alleged swindling but she was subsequently released.

Pines is now under the custody of the Talisay City Police Station and has undergone a medical examination at the City Health Office, the police reported*
