A former barangay kagawad and his live-in partner were arrested in a drug buy-bust at Rizal Street, Purok LGM, Brgy. II-Poblacion, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental, Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 8.
Police identified the suspects as alias “Chris,” 50, a former barangay kagawad from Rojas Street, Brgy. 5, Kabankalan City, and “Ruffa,” 36, resident of Brgy. Enclaro, Binalbagan.
Records showed the couple handed over one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance, believed to be shabu, to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for marked money.
The police recovered about 120 grams of suspected shabu from them worth P816,000.
The confiscated substances will be submitted to the PNP Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.
Charges are being prepared against the suspects, who are now detained at the Pontevedra Police Station.*
