Two fires hit three commercial establishments and a house in Bacolod City during the weekend causing damage estimated at more than P8 million.
A fire damaged Merzci Bread and Pasties, FNE Fashion Shop and Zoliv Novelty Shop at Gatuslao Street, Brgy. 13, Bacolod City, at 9:48 a.m. Sunday, June 23.
The fire that started at the second floor of Merzci Bread and Pasties caused an estimated damage of P8 million, FSupt. Jenny Mae C. Masip, Bacolod Fire Marshal, said.
The storage area of FNE Fashion Shop is located above the second floor of Merzci, she said.
The fire did not cross to FNE Fashion Shop and Zoliv Novelty Shop because of a concrete fire wall but the two establishments sustained water damage, Masip said.
The owners of the three establishments are CM and Sons Food Product Inc., Vanessa Jade S. Wu and Lindsey Herchel V. Arroyo.
Masip said they are still determining the cause of the fire.
A fire also hit a house at Gatuslao Street, Purok Kamunsil, Brgy. 3, Bacolod City, 11:09 a.m. Saturday, June 22.
The damaged house is owned by Marlo Jomalesa, which was occupied by his caretaker and her family, Masip said.
Damage was estimated at P63,000, she said.*
