 Esports competition winners named

The 4th Panaad sa Negros Governor’s Cup MLBB Esports Competition 2026 has officially concluded, highlighting exceptional talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship from participating teams across Negros Occidental.

Emerging as champions, Maraynon Esports of Cadiz City dominated the competition and secured 1st place. The team is composed of Elcris Jay D. Jimenez, Miles Riley C. Sumayang, Virlei Grace T. Quijano, Isaac Alexandrous D. Osal, Jay Lai C. Sycayco, John Mathew M. Porsuelo, under the guidance of Coach Almae Arquiza.

Isaac Alexandrous D. Osal was recognized as the Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP) for his outstanding performance, while Virlei Grace T. Quijano received the Not Just Play Award for achieving an impressive 96.25 general average—exemplifying excellence both in esports and academics.

Valence Electronz from Pulupandan claimed 2nd place, represented by Ghean Carl F. Ariate, Michael Angelo A. Casildo, Dave Gabriel B. Illorin, John Matthew D. Matti, Niel Kenny B. Villacenda, John Carlo D. Yunque, with Coach Arben Vincent Ordaniel.

Placing 3rd were the Celestial Knights from La Castellana, composed of Adrian G. Salas, Arc Loen L. Ayagan, Randie De la Paz, John Michael M. Eliver, Nhel P. Piamonte, Kurt Martin A. Dela Cruz, and Coach Noel Oliverio.

Team B8 from Talisay City secured 4th place with team members Jose Francisco D. Guevarra, Jie Yan Ray Y. Fuentes, Kerby B. Navarro, Zhenechka Avin G. Sarcon, Joshua Khurt Isaiah A. Gador, Deejay Smith L. Longno, and Coach Rubie Ann Bibat.

Rounding out the top five is Sidlak Esports from Victorias City, represented by Jemelord O. Villarez, Paul Jake B. Monieva, Kenneth John S. Tolentino, Nico D. Pelongco, Adrian Josh G. Tolentino, Ashley Jhan Gonzales, with Coach Jimmlyn Gonzales.

The esports competition is a collaborative initiative led by the Province of Negros Occidental through Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center (NOLITC) in partnership with AcadArena Education, the Department of Education, various Local Government Units, the City of Cadiz Local Economic Development Investment Promotion Division, Moonton, Mountain Dew, and Ayala Malls Capitol Central.

Winners were awarded cash prizes, trophies, medals, certificates, and Mountain Dew.

The Top 10 teams that qualified for the championship round include representatives from Bago City, Cadiz City, Escalante City, Himamaylan City, La Carlota City, La Castellana, Manapla, Pulupandan, Talisay City, and Victorias City showcasing the depth of esports talent across Negros.

This year’s competition once again proved that esports is a powerful platform for youth development, promoting not only gaming excellence but also discipline, teamwork, and academic balance.*PR
