The Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) has deployed traffic enforcers at the Bacolod-Negros Economic Highway (BACONEH) intersection in Brgy. Granada to help decongest traffic in the area.
The traffic enforcers will be deployed in the area from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. to help manage traffic, BTAO Deputy Head Jose Antonio Robello said Friday, Oct. 11.
He said that the congestion is caused by the unfamiliarity of the motorists passing the area and not giving way to vehicles passing by the intersection.
The deployment of traffic enforcers in the area is just a short-term solution for BTAO as they will recommend the installation of traffic lights in the area.
Robello said that they will suggest to the City Planning and Development Office and City Engineer’s Office to install traffic lights in the area to ensure that traffic will flow smoothly.
The BACONEH stretches from Brgy. Sum-ag going to Cabug, Handumanan, Mansilingan-Murcia, Vista Alegre, Estefania, and Bata going to neighboring Talisay City to Victorias City in northern Negros.*
