The Department of Social Welfare and Development Negros Island Region is aiming to complete the Emergency Cash Transfer payout to Bacolod residents whose houses were destroyed and damaged by Typhoon “Tino” this December, DSWD NIR Regional Director Arwin Razo said on Tuesday, Dec. 16.
The target is to distribute P230 million to 39,364 families in Bacolod before the month ends, he said.
Bacolod has been prioritized because of the magnitude of damaged and destroyed houses, Razo said.
They are about to complete the distribution of the first tranche of about P115 million for families with destroyed and damaged houses, he said.
It covers 3,430 families with destroyed houses and 14,823 with damaged houses, Razo said.
Families with validated destroyed houses are receiving P10,325 each, while those with damaged houses are getting P5,369 each, Razo said.
The second P115,000 to be distributed will cover 359 families with destroyed houses and 20,752 with damaged houses or a total of 20,111 families, he added.*
