DOH: Bacolod vaccinates 101.69% of target population with first dose

The Bacolod City government has vaccinated 417,656 residents with their first dose of COVID-19 vaccines, which is 101. 69 percent of its target population, Em Ang, executive director of the Bacolod Emergency Operations Center, said Thursday, December 23.

Fully vaccinated are 369,201 residents or 89.90 percent of the target population, she added.

This means when all of those who received their first dose are fully vaccinated in about three weeks, the city will have hit herd immunity, Ang said.

Bacolod has a population of 586,715 and the 70 percent that need to be fully vaccinated to reach herd immunity are 410,701 residents, a Department of Health (DOH) report showed Thursday.

Negros Occidental has vaccinated 1,069,799 of its residents with their first dose or 58.61 percent of its target population, while fully vaccinated are 652,839 of 35.76 percent, the DOH said.

The province has a population of 2,607,671 and the 70 percent that need to be fully vaccinated to hit herd immunity are 1,825,370 residents, it added.*
