
A high-value drug suspect was arrested after more than P6.9 million worth of suspected shabu was seized in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City, on Saturday afternoon, December 13.
The suspect, identified only as “Paul,” 37, and temporarily residing in Brgy. Tangub, was arrested for alleged violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Operatives of the Police Station 8 Special Drug Enforcement Team, in coordination with the City Drug Enforcement Unit, conducted the operation at around 5:55 p.m. in Purok Villa Esperanza.
The police recovered approximately 1,025 grams of suspected shabu from the suspect’s possession, with an estimated standard drug price of P6,970,000.
The arrested suspect and seized evidence were brought to the police station for proper documentation and disposition, while the confiscated drugs were turned over for laboratory examination.
The Bacolod City Police Office reiterated its commitment to intensify anti-illegal drug operations and urged the public to continue supporting law enforcement efforts to maintain peace and order in the city.*
