A high-value individual was arrested in a buy-bust operation that led to the confiscation of P442,000 worth of suspected shabu in Purok Santol, Brgy. Balugo, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, on Sunday, Sept. 28.
The police identified the suspect as alias “Ping2x,” 36, married, and a resident of Brgy. Bagacay, Dumaguete City.
The Dumaguete City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit said the suspect was placed under surveillance after a confidential informant reported his alleged involvement in illegal drug activities.
The first attempted transaction did not push through, but during a second meeting, police carried out the buy-bust and arrested him.
Recovered from the suspect were two big packs of suspected shabu weighing around 65 grams, with a standard drug price of P442,000, a cellphone, and marked and boodle money used in the operation.
The suspect is now detained at the Dumaguete CPS and will face charges for violation of the Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
