The Bacolod City Legal Office ordered the removal of a “peryahan (carnival) ” at the Bacolod Public Plaza for lack of a permit on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

The owner is the same as the one who set up the carnival behind the Bacolod City Government Center, City Legal Officer Romeo Carlos Ting Jr. said.

There was apparent misunderstanding in their availing of a permit, the mayor will not allow such activity in the plaza, Ting said.

The mayor had reports that betting games were allegedly allowed at the “peryahan” inside the Bacolod Public Plaza just across from the street from San Sebastian Cathedral investigated.

The CLO enforcement team together with the Bacolod Yuhum Foundation has assured a more thorough inspection will be conducted to ensure that legitimate kiosk owners and vendors are operating at the Bacolod Public Plaza.*
