Five of the Negros Occidental provincial government economic enterprises earned a total P234,738, 358 from January to November last year, and the Negros First CyberCentre was the top earner, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said Thursday, January 11.

The 2023 amount is P45. 3 million or 24 percent higher than the P189, 357,519 earnings in 2022.

The P234.7 million is 91.01 percent of the P257.9 million target for 2023, Diaz said.

The total amount for 2023 will increase when the December earnings are added, he said.

The provincial government is setting a higher earnings target for 2024 with all of its economic enterprises in full operation, he said.

As of Nov. 31, 2023 the Negros First CyberCentre earned P111 million or 148 percent higher than its P75 million target, Mambukal Resort and catering – P70.7 million of its P93.3 million target (71.81 percent), Ayala rentals – P34.7 million of its P33.6 million target (103.29 percent), FTMON – P10.4 million of its P26.2 million target (39.82 percent), and Negros Residences – P7.6 million of its P29.6 million target (25.94 percent), Diaz said.

Mambukal’s earnings for 2023 will increase when delayed payments for catering services are collected, he also said.

Diaz said the Negros Residences in 2023 underwent repairs, which is one of the reasons for its not earning as much as expected.

They are bringing in marketing people to boost earnings in 2024, Diaz said.

They are also hiring Negrenses who worked on cruise ships and from other food establishments to improve on the quality and safety standards of the Mambukal catering, he said.

Diaz is the officer-in-charge of the EEDD following the early retirement of Lucille Gelvolea.

“I already commenced the reorganization of personnel and assigned focal persons per economic enterprise and their respective administrative officers to facilitate smooth operations.” Diaz said.*
