Capitol now predominantly solar powered, Diaz says

The Negros Occidental Provincial Capitol is now about 85 percent solar-powered, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said Sunday, August 31.

The Capitol building consumes 211.06 kWh of power, with Negros Power and Electric Corp. supplying only 15.30 percent, or 32.29 kWh, he said.

The rest of the electricity comes from renewable energy provided by the Capitol’s solar panels, Diaz added.

All 246 solar panels and 123 power optimizers are fully operational and visible via a live monitoring platform, he said.

“This marks a major step forward in our province’s commitment to sustainability,” Diaz said.*
