The Negros Occidental provincial government subsidy for local government units joining the Panaad sa Negros Festival set April 17 to 23 has been increased from P200,000 to P300,000 each.

March 1 is also being eyed as the date for the launching of the festival, after a three-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said Thursday, February 16.

The launching could be at the Capitol Lagoon and Park, depending on the weather, he said.

They already have the logo and the music for the festival to be held at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City, he said.

On Monday Lacson designated Provincial Tourism Officer Cheryl F. Decena as Panaad festival director, and Engineer Jose Maria Amugod as logistics head.*
