The official Cadiz City government Facebook page was hacked on Wednesday, August 16.
“Bilis Cadiz Ugyon Cadiznon”, which has about 77,000 followers was hacked and the administrator of the social media page had no access to it since Wednesday night, Lyn Regodos of the Cadiz City Investments and Promotion Office said on Thursday.
The Investments and Promotions Office of Cadiz City manages “Bilis Cadiz Ugyon Cadiznon” page.
The page where Cadiz City public service announcements are posted contained movie clips and short videos not related to Cadiz City on Thursday.
However, late Thursday night it appeared like the administrator of the page had recovered control and had removed the unwanted posts.
Regodos said they reported the hacking to Facebook to recover their page.*
