Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez signed a five-day suspension order against Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) head Patrick Lacson.
City Legal Officer Romeo Carlos Ting Jr. said on Monday, May 6, that the 5-day suspension will take effect when Lacson receives the order.
The suspension came after Lacson was ordered to explain the removal of the MABB Cab logo from a city government vehicle that was photographed at his residence and his issuance of a memorandum that gave a quota to traffic personnel to apprehend traffic violators.
The mayor has already reprimanded and warned Lacson, leading to the recommendation of the 5-day suspension against him, Ting said.
Ting said that the 5-day suspension is a penalty for light offenses committed by Lacson for violating office procedures.
Lacson said that he accepts any penalty that will be issued to him.*
