BCPO nets almost P1M in drugs in October

The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has confiscated more than P900,000 worth of illegal drugs from October 1 to 31.

In a report released by the BCPO Tuesday, November 2, its month-long anti-illegal operations have led to the confiscation of 139.604 grams of illegal drugs with an estimated value of P949,313.

The 43 police operations resulted in the arrest of 58 street-level drug personalities, one high-value individual, and one minor, with 67 drug cases filed in court.

In the campaign against wanted persons, BCPO conducted a total of 53 police operations during the period, leading to the arrest of 11 most wanted persons and 42 wanted persons charged with various offenses.

For loose firearms, 21 initiated police operations resulted in the arrest of four violators who yielded three homemade firearms and a small gun.

On the police’s “Oplan Katok,” three firearms were deposited and 11 homemade guns and seven explosives were surrendered to the BCPO.

In the campaign against illegal gambling, the BCPO arrested 47 individuals in its 14 operations.

Col. Thomas Joseph Martir, acting BCPO director, commended the operating units and their personnel for their relentless effort to lessen criminality.

He vowed to always give the Bacolodnons a safe place to live especially in this time of the pandemic.

He also urged the public to help in making the community peaceful.*
