Tropical Depression Basyang will likely make a landfall over the southern portions of Cebu and Negros Oriental between Friday night and early Saturday, the weather bureau said.
In its 5 p.m. bulletin on Friday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Basyang earlier made landfall over Bohol.
The cyclone was last located in vicinity of Dauis, Bohol, moving west-southwest at 15 kph and maintaining its strength, with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center, and gustiness of up to 75 kph.
Signal No. 1 is hoisted over the southern portion of Occidental Mindoro (San Jose, Magsaysay, Rizal, Calintaan, and Sablayan); the southern portion of Oriental Mindoro (Mansalay, Bulalacao, Gloria, Pinamalayan, Bansud, Bongabong, and Roxas); Romblon; the northern portion of Palawan (Taytay, El Nido, Dumaran, Araceli, and Roxas), including Cuyo Islands, Cagayancillo Islands, and Calamian Islands; and the southern portion of Masbate (Balud, Mandaon, Milagros, Esperanza, Placer, and Cawayan).
It is also hoisted over the southern portion of Eastern Samar (Guiuan, Salcedo, Mercedes, Giporlos, Balangiga, Lawaan, Quinapondan, General Macarthur, Hernani, Llorente, Balangkayan, City of Borongan, and Maydolong); the southern portion of Samar (Marabut, Basey, Santa Rita, Daram, Talalora, Zumarraga, Villareal, Pinabacdao, and Calbiga); Guimaras; Iloilo; Capiz; Antique, including Caluya Islands; Aklan; Biliran; Bohol; Cebu; Negros Occidental; Negros Oriental; Leyte; Southern Leyte; and Siquijor.
Signal No. 1 is also hoisted over the Dinagat Islands; Surigao del Norte; Agusan del Norte; Misamis Oriental; the northern portion of Misamis Occidental (Plaridel, Baliangao, Calamba, Lopez Jaena, Sapang Dalaga, Aloran, and Oroquieta City); Camiguin; and the northern portion of Zamboanga del Norte (Rizal, Sibutad, La Libertad, Dapitan City, Mutia, Piñan, Dipolog City, and Polanco).
The cyclone is expected to bring heavy rainfall across Negros Occidental, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, Palawan, Negros Oriental, Cebu, Bohol, Siquijor, Aklan, and Capiz.
