A bank employee died after the motorcycle she was driving was hit by a truck in Sitio Loreto, Brgy. San Jose, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental, on Thursday, Nov. 7.
The victim was identified as Shiela Bendoy, 32, a bank employee and resident of Sitio Pison, Brgy. Mambagaton, Himamaylan City.
The truck was driven by Diego Arroyo, 56, of Brgy. Vista Alegre, Bacolod City.
The truck was headed for Bacolod when the driver overtook another vehicle and hit the victim who was driving her motorcycle on the opposite lane, Lt. Benjo Ballo-Allo, Binalbagan Deputy Police Chief, said.
The victim was brought to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Arroyo was temporarily released as the reglementary period for detention ended. Discussions on a possible settlement were reportedly underway.*
