Bacolodnon meted 2 life terms, lover gets lesser penalty for drugs

A Bacolod resident was sentenced to two life terms for the sale and possession of drugs, while his lover was meted a lesser jail term.

Executive Judge Raymond Joseph Javier of Bacolod Regional Trial Court Branch 52 sentenced Andrew Perez Mostoles Sr. alias Burikat, to suffer the penalty of two life sentences for the sale and possession of illegal drugs and to pay a fine of P1 million.

He was accused of the sale of .177 gram shabu for P500 to PO2 Freddie Bragat Jr. at Purok Puentebella, Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City, on Sept. 23, 2019 and for possession of 14.851 grams of shabu.

The judge also sentenced his lover Analiza Enumerables Laguido to an indeterminate prison term of 12 years and 8 months as minimum to 17 years and 8 months as maximum for possession of .050 gram of shabu.

Laguido, who was arrested along with Mostoles, was also ordered to pay a fine of P300,000.

The judge ordered the immediate transfer of Mostoles to the National Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City and Languido to the Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong City,

Meanwhile, the judge acquitted Wilfredo Garcia Nedruda of charges for the sale and possession of shabu

The judge ordered his release from jail unless he is detained for some other lawful cause

He was charged for the alleged sale of .0609 gram shabu to PO2 Ramon Alonte Jr. at Purok Neptune, Barangay Singcang-Airport in Bacolod City on Oct. 3, 2019, and for possession of 1.7246 grams of shabu.

However, the judge in dismissing the charges against Nedruda said the testimony of Alonte “not only appears to be improbable but also incredible.”*
