Bacolod-Iloilo fastcrafts resume operations on Jan. 25

Weesam Express will begin its Bacolod-Iloilo-Bacolod fastcraft operations on Tuesday, January 25, following the granting of permission for fully vaccinated individuals to travel the route without having to present negative RT-PCR test results.

Weesam fastcrafts will depart from Bacolod City for Iloilo City at 6:30 a.m. and 1:10 p.m. and from Iloilo City to Bacolod City at 11:30 a.m. and 2:50 p.m. Monday to Sunday, Frank Carbon, Weesam consultant, said.

Fastcrafts plying the Bacolod-Iloilo-Bacolod route had halted operations on January 10 after Bacolod and Iloilo required fully vaccinated travelers to present negative RT-PCR test results.

Iloilo Mayor Jerry Treñas said to harmonize the travel requirements by the Bacolod government; he signed an executive order amending his city’s protocols for inbound passengers from Negros Island on Monday, January 24.

Fully vaccinated travelers from Bacolod City entering Iloilo City must present a vaccination card and valid government issued ID, he said.

Those who are partially vaccinated and unvaccinated must present negative RT-PCR test results that must have been obtained 72 hours prior to and upon arrival in Iloilo City, an approved S-PASS and valid government issued ID, Treñas added.

Bacolod City requires inbound partially vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers from Iloilo City to present negative Rapid Antigen Test results from a Department of Health accredited laboratory taken not more than 24 hours before boarding a vessel at the port of origin.*
