Bacolod born Nikki Lizares, the author of the soon-to-be released book “In Moonlit Tides: Stories on the Long Way Home”, has committed its proceeds to support the projects of the Negrense Volunteers for Change Foundation.
“While this book is Lizares’ love story about love of life and love of the world, she starts off by proving love through a commitment that all proceeds of book sales from now until December 25 will be donated to Negrense Volunteers for Change Foundation,” Millie Kilayko, NVC president, said Thursday, Nov. 7.
The funds raised will be used for various programs to feed undernourished children or support communities reeling from impacts of extreme weather and climate change, she said.
In “Moonlit Tides: Stories on the Long Way Home” Lizares “crafts a tender narrative that spans the globe from the sunlit coasts of Bacolod, where her journey begins, to the vast, starry savannahs of Africa and other far reaches of the world”.
Each part marks pivotal stages of Lizares’s life from her early enchantment with the coral seas beneath Danjugan Island in Negros through her voyages around the globe.
Lizares is the daughter of Rafael “Juny” Lizares and Jeanne Bongco and now resides in Laguna with her husband Alvaro Grijalba.
