Bacolod City aims to hit COVID-19 herd immunity before Christmas or before the year ends, Dr. Chris Sorongon, Emergency Operations Center-Task Force deputy, said Sunday, December 5.

Department of Health (DOH) data shows that 84 percent of Bacolod’s residents already received a single dose of COVID-19 vaccines, while 66 percent were fully-vaccinated as of Sunday, he said in a press release.

Bacolod inoculated 70,752 residents during the three-day “Bayanihan Bakunahan”, which was above the 66,171 three-day quota originally set by the DOH for the city, he also pointed out.
