Bacolod City ranked 5th among the National Top-Performing Cities in Strengthening Local Government Finance for FY 2023, as recognized by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez announced on Tuesday, Sept, 10.
“We achieved a 20.44 percent year-on-year growth in Local Source Revenues in 2023,” Benitez said in a Facebook post.
“This is the first time Bacolod City has received such recognition. It is a strong testament to our commitment to driving financial growth and sustainable development in our beloved city,” he said.
The top 10 highly urbanized cities in Year-on-Year Growth in Local Source Revenues 2023 are:
- NCR – Quezon City – 30.02 percent;
- NCR – Makati City – 26.02 percent;
- NCR – Pasay City – 22.56 percent;
- Region II – Olongapo City – 21.30 percent;
- Region VI – Bacolod City – 20.44 percent;
- NCR – Mandaluyong City – 19.80 percent;
- NCR – Parañaque City – 17.41 percent;
- NCR – Caloocan City – 17.09 percent;
- NCR – Las Piñas City -15.88 percent; and
- Region VII – Cebu City-15.26 percent.*
