Bacolod, 11 Neg. Occ. LGUs placed under AL1 until July 15

Bacolod City and 11 local government units (LGUs) in Negros Occidental will be under Alert Level 1 from July 1 to 15, presidential spokesman Martin Andanar announced Tuesday, June 28.

The 11 LGUs are Cadiz City, Candoni, Talisay City,   Victorias City, Enrique B. Magalona, La Carlota City, Pontevedra, Pulupandan, Sagay City, San Enrique, and Valladolid, he said.

The 20 other LGUs of Negros Occidental will remain under Alert Level 2.

In Negros Oriental placed under Alert Level 1 until July 15 are Amlan, Bacong, Dauin, Dumaguete City Valencia and Zamboanguita,   while the rest of the province will be under Alert Level 2,  Andanar said.

Other areas in Western Visayas under Alert Level 1 are Aklan,  Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo Province, and Iloilo City.

The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Monday, June 27, approved   the recommendations of the sub-Technical Working Group for Data Analytics on the new matrices to be used for the alert level system and the alert level classifications.

Case risk classification will be based on average daily attack rates and its current thresholds, the IATF said.

The assignment of Alert Level shall be based on the revised cross tabulation of total beds utilization rate and average daily attack rate, it added.

There has been no increase in COVID-19 cases in Negros Occidental, Dr. Jessica Fama, medical specialist 3 of the Provincial Health Office, said Tuesday.

She said 64.47 percent of Negros Occidental’s target population have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and 59.04 percent of its target senior citizens.*
