Authorities continue to strengthen measures versus drug smuggling

Authorities in Negros Occidental are continuing to strengthen measures against illegal drug smuggling.

This include the K9 inspection and profiling of passengers in ports, including the San Carlos City port, which is a gateway to Cebu province.

The narcotics detection dogs thoroughly screen and inspect cargo, and the passengers’ personal belongings from Toledo Port in Cebu to the San Carlos port.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-6 said the initiative is aimed to discourage drug smugglers from utilizing different seaports in the province of Negros Occidental as their entry points for illegal activities.

Authorities have earlier intercepted suspects who attempted to smuggle illegal drugs.*
