A 72-year-old man died after he was burned while clearing dried sugarcane leaves in Tanjay City, Negros Oriental, on Saturday, May 9.
The police identified the victim only as Vergenio from Brgy. Polo, Tanjay.
Authorities said the victim sustained burns on different parts of his body during the sugarcane field fire.
The police are arranging a medico-legal examination to determine the exact cause of death.*
